The Use of Feathers
The use of Feathers in Fly tying to give your flies Body, Movement and some bulk
CDC
CDC on Dry flies to help them float and stay on top of the water, CDC on Nymphs and Caddis flies to trap some air bubbles and give the flies a realistic look in the water.
Pheasant Tail
Pheasant tail on Nymph flies for the tail, body and wing section, I have used Pheasant tail on Caddis flies for feelers ( https://www.cmffly.co.za/step-by-step-orange-caddis/ )
Strung Hackle
Strung Hackle on large saltwater flies for the tail section and to give your flies bulk, you can use it on Woolly Buggers for the hackle over the body section, use Strung Hackle on flies that you would to make a collars on, like bass flies to push some water and attract attention.
Goose Boits
Goose Boits can be used for wrapping the back section on Nymphs and also for the wings and tail sections (like Copper John flies). It can also be used as legs.
Marabou
Marabou can be used as Tail sections on Woolly Bugger flies, wing casings on Damsel flies and if you make a dubbing brus with the fibers it make a nice body section on flies.
