CMF CDC Brown (cul-de-canard) is a fly tying material made from feathers from a duck’s rear, near its oil glands, which provides excellent natural buoyancy for flies. It’s used to tie a wide variety of flies, including dry flies, emergers, and nymphs, for their wings, bodies, and hackles. CDC material is prized for its high flotation, which keeps artificial flies sitting properly on the water’s surface.
