The Hends Lead Wire Flat 0.4 mm is very soft, flat, lead wire for loading all types of flies. With this material, we can achieve a higher weight of the fly than with a wire with a round cross-section. It is very easy and quick to work with.

Uses of Lead wire

You can use lead wire on the body of a caddis fly to wind it on the shank of the hook before you start to add your fly tying thread. If you add a bit of supa glue over the lead wire to secure it in places before you add the thread then the lead will not slip around the hook and that will make the fly much more durable.

Use lead wire on the bend of the hook of large flies to make sure that the hook turns around and that it swims the right way in the water to make sure that the flies look realistic in the water
